Terms of use
Last updated October 28, 2026
These terms are the agreement between Doktor and the clinics that use it. By creating a clinic or joining one, you agree to them.
The service
Doktor helps a clinic run appointments, patient records, prescriptions and billing. It is a record-keeping tool: it does not diagnose, and it does not replace a doctor's judgement. Warnings it shows, such as allergy clashes, are aids that can miss things.
The clinic's responsibilities
- Keeping what it records accurate, and having the patient's permission where the law requires it.
- Deciding who on its staff gets an account and which role, and removing access when someone leaves.
- Keeping passwords private. Everything done from an account counts as done by that person.
- Downloading backups regularly and keeping them safe.
- Following the medical, privacy and tax rules that apply to it.
Fair use
- Use Doktor only for running a clinic.
- Don't try to reach another clinic's information, get around the access rules, or overload the service.
- Don't upload anything unlawful or that you don't have the right to store.
The clinic's data
The clinic's records belong to the clinic. We handle them as described on the Privacy page, and the clinic can download all of them at any time.
Availability
We work to keep Doktor running and its data safe, but we can't promise it will never be unavailable or never have a fault, especially during the pilot. Keep regular backups, and have a paper fallback for days when the internet is down.
Fees
Any fees are agreed in writing with the clinic before they are charged.
Limits of responsibility
Doktor is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for medical decisions, for losses caused by information entered incorrectly, or for indirect losses. Nothing here limits responsibility that the law doesn't allow to be limited.
Ending and changes
A clinic can stop using Doktor at any time and take its backup with it. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, after warning the clinic where possible.
If these terms change, we'll update this page and tell clinic admins before important changes take effect.
